Gas Detectors

GAOTek gas detectors detect the any presence of toxic gasses in the area. Our tool is used for inspection and detection of gas leaks and emissions. It is also used as a control system as an alarm to alert the operators in the area if there are toxic gas leaks in the area. GAOTek gas detectors are reliable, high quality, and affordable equipment that provide an accurate detection for easier inspection or monitoring. It is compact, easy to carry and portable to allow the user to work in complex conditions.
It offers features of microprocessor, advanced signal processing, visual display, high or low leak sensitivity selector, low battery indication, semiconductor gas sensor, flexible stainless probe, reference leak sources included, ambient concentration reset, adjustable alarm limits, max hold function, replaceable CO sensor for longer use life, dual display for CO and temperature, backlit LCD for reading even in dim light conditions, testing oxygen density, auto temperature compensation, auto calibration in clean air, carbon monoxide testing density, and two-level carbon monoxide alarm.

Gas detectors measure and detect the amount of concentrated specific gasses in the air with different technologies. Our gas detectors are mostly battery operated for safety purposes and to allow portability. It is also manufactured as stationary devices which are use in signifying the concentration of gasses through indicators like alarms or signals. Many of the older standard gas detectors are made originally to detect one gas, while the modern multi-function gas detectors are capable of detecting several gasses at the same time.

Gas detectors are categorized by the type of gas it detects: combustible or toxic. It is further narrowed down to catalytic and infrared sensors which detect the toxic gasses such as electrochemical and metal oxide semiconductors technologies.

·       Electrochemical sensors are mostly used for detection of the toxic gasses such as chlorine, nitrogen oxides, fluorine, phosphine, stibine, and carbon monoxide. It is function of the electrodes signals when a gas is detected. These sensors are known to be highly sensitive and send warning signals via electric currents.

·       Metal Oxide Semiconductors are used for detecting toxic gasses and it works by the use of gas sensitive film in which it composes a tungsten or tin oxides. The metal oxide semiconductors are generally efficient due to its ability to operate in low humidity conditions while being able to detect a range of gasses. The film reacts to the gasses and it triggers the device when toxic gas or levels are present.

·       Infrared sensors work through a system of transmitters and receivers to detect combustible gasses. The transmitter acts as a light source and the light detectors are the receivers. When a gas presents in the area, the power of the light transmission between transmitter and receiver will intercept the gas.

·       Catalytic sensors are used to detect combustible gasses via catalytic oxidation. The sensors are generally constructed from the platinum wire coil. When a combustible comes in contact with the catalytic surface, it is then oxidized and the wiring resistance is changed by the heat that is released.

·       Holographic sensors use the light reflection to detect changes in the polymer film. The film contains a hologram which reflects light at a certain wavelength, then a gas is detected when a colorful reflection is indicated, this is due to the change in the composition.

·       Ultrasonic sensors use an acoustic sensor to detect changes in the noise of its environment. It detects the changes in background noises by having the high-pressure gas leaks generate a sound. It is easily able to distinguish the frequencies from background acoustic noise and then the ultrasonic gas alarms when there is a deviation from the normal condition of background noise.

Photoionization uses an ionized chemical from a high photon energy UV lamp of a gas leak. When a gas has a compound that is below of the lamp photons, an electron is ejected, then its resulting current is a proportion of the concentrated compound. Standard components of air or mineral acids are ignored. Their simplicity use and high sensitivity are the advantages of using photoionization but limit itself through the no specification of compound measurement.

Gas detectors are common applications for safety whether it is home, industrial, or commercial. Gas detectors are used in wide range of applications such as industrial plants, pharmaceutical manufacturing, refineries, paper mills, shipyard, aircraft building facilities, wastewater treatment facilities, and air quality testing. Applications in which toxic gasses can present where toxic gas detector can be used are painting, fuel filling, contamination inspection, construction, and many more applications that a toxic gasses can occur.
