GBIC CWDM Transceivers

GAOTek’s GBIC CWDM (Gigabit Interface Converter Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) transceivers are optical transceiver modules used in data communication networks. They combine the functionality of a GBIC transceiver with CWDM technology to enable high-speed data transmission over single-mode fiber-optic cables.

GAO’s GBIC CWDM transceivers are composed of an optoelectronic transmitter, optoelectronic receiver, multiplexer/demultiplexer, electronic interface, and mechanical housing.

The other common names of GBIC CWDM transceivers are GBIC CWDM modules, GBIC CWDM transponders, GBIC CWDM optics, GBIC CWDM transceiver units, GBIC CWDM transmitter-receivers, GBIC CWDM gigabit interfaces, GBIC CWDM fiber transceivers, GBIC CWDM network modules, GBIC CWDM datacom transceivers, and GBIC CWDM optical transceivers.

GAO’s GBIC CWDM transceivers have the following functions:

  • CWDM Technology: Our GBIC CWDM transceivers utilize Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing technology, which allows multiple optical signals with different wavelengths to be transmitted simultaneously over a single optical fiber.
  • Data Rate: GAO’s GBIC CWDM transceivers support Gigabit Ethernet (1Gbps) data rates, making them suitable for high-speed data transmission in networking environments.
  • Hot-Pluggable: Our GBIC CWDM transceivers are hot-pluggable, which means they can be inserted or removed from compatible equipment without shutting down the system or disrupting network operations.
  • Duplex LC Connector: GAO’s GBIC CWDM transceivers typically feature duplex LC connectors for easy and reliable fiber optic cable connections.
  • Compatibility: Our GBIC CWDM transceivers are designed to be compatible with various networking equipment and switches that support GBIC interfaces, providing flexibility in network deployment.

GAO Tek’s GBIC CWDM transceivers are rugged, versatile, and precision measurement instruments. They comply with applicable industry standards such as ITU-T G.694.1, ITU-T G.694.2, ITU-T G.692, ITU-T G.709, Telcordia GR-253, and MSA (Multi-Source Agreement) Standards.

GAO Tek’s GBIC CWDM transceivers help our customers comply with relevant U.S. government regulations such as:

  • Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)
  • National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Federal Information Processing Standards (FIPS)
  • Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Regulations

GAO Tek’s GBIC CWDM transceivers help our clients in complying with relevant Canadian government regulations such as:

  • Radio Standards Specifications (RSS)
  • Electromagnetic Compatibility Regulations (EMCR)
  • Radiocommunication Act and Spectrum Management Regulations
  • Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC) Regulations

GAO’s GBIC CWDM transceivers have the following applications:

  • Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs): Our GBIC CWDM transceivers are used in MANs, which connect multiple locations within a city or metropolitan area. By utilizing CWDM technology, these transceivers enable the transmission of multiple data streams over a single optical fiber, increasing the capacity and efficiency of the network.
  • Wide Area Networks (WANs): GAO’s GBIC CWDM transceivers are suitable for WAN applications where data needs to be transmitted over long distances between different cities or regions.
  • Fiber Backbone Networks: GAOTek’s GBIC CWDM transceivers can be used in fiber backbone networks, which are the high-capacity central networks that interconnect various LANs (Local Area Networks) and data centers.
  • Data Center Interconnects: Our GBIC CWDM transceivers are utilized in data centers to connect multiple facilities or servers over fiber optic links. They facilitate the transmission of high-speed data between data centers, allowing for data replication, disaster recovery, and load balancing across geographically distributed resources.
  • Wireless Backhaul: GBIC CWDM transceivers can be used in wireless backhaul scenarios, where they help connect wireless base stations and access points to the core network. By leveraging CWDM technology, these transceivers enable the efficient transfer of wireless data over fiber optic links, supporting high-speed and reliable wireless connectivity.

Our GBIC CWDM transceivers can be shipped overnight within the continental U.S. and Canada and can be shipped globally.
