defines and explains what Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) are, as well as why it is
highly error and failure-prone. Next, Aziz explains the two classifications of wireless networks:
infrastructure and infrastructures (or Ad Hoc) wireless networks. Some application scenarios
include tactical networks, emergency services, home and enterprise networks, entertainment,
sensor networks, and commercial and civilian environments. The lecture ends with a
comparison between cellular and mobile ad hoc networks.
