In Lecture 9, WLAN Part 1, Talha Ibn Aziz, Lecturer at the Department of CSE at IUT, explains
Wireless Local Area Networks IEEE 802.11. This is the first part of three lectures on WLANs.
This lecture covers the scope of 802.11 as well as the reference models, architectures and
coordination functions, services, and frame formats (802.11 MAC Frames). Covered next is the
medium access control protocol, the medium access control with support for quality-of-service,
and radio spectrum management. The final topic introduced is timing and interframe spaces,
which will continue into Lecture 10: WLAN Part 2.
