Fiber Systems
Overview
Fiber systems serve as the foundation for high-speed, high-capacity data transmission in telecommunications, enterprise, and data center infrastructures. These systems are engineered to optimize bandwidth utilization, extend signal reach, and enhance reliability over long distances and demanding environments. Whether for metro networks, broadband rollouts, or mission-critical backbones, fiber technologies ensure low-latency and interference-free communication. GAO Tek Inc., headquartered in New York City and Toronto, Canada, offers a wide range of fiber systems that support advanced optical networking demands. We provide high-performance fiber systems to Fortune 500 companies, top research institutions, and government agencies across North America. GAO Tek’s deep investment in R&D, robust QA processes, and expert support, remote or onsite, ensures our fiber systems meet modern industry requirements and deployment needs.
Below is a list of all GAO Tek’s Fiber System products:
GAO Tek’s products of Fiber System are organized as follows:
10 Gb/s (10km) BIDI SFP+ Connection
This fiber link solution uses bidirectional (BIDI) SFP+ transceivers to transmit and receive data over a single fiber at 10 Gb/s speeds. The 10 km reach makes it suitable for enterprise and metro access networks, where efficient use of fiber resources is essential.
Common applications include inter-switch links, campus networks, and telecom transport where fiber availability is limited. Its single-fiber design simplifies deployment and reduces infrastructure costs.
Also referred to as “single fiber 10G BIDI SFP+” or “10G SFP+ simplex transceivers,” these modules enable high-speed connectivity in fiber-constrained environments. GAO Tek offers models that support digital diagnostics monitoring and compatibility with various OEM devices.

40 Channels DWDM Mux/De-Mux
40-channel DWDM Mux/De-Mux systems allow for dense wavelength division multiplexing, combining or separating 40 distinct wavelengths over a single optical fiber. This dramatically increases bandwidth capacity without requiring additional fiber infrastructure.
Ideal for telecom operators, long-haul transmission, and data center interconnects, these devices support high-capacity, scalable networks. They are typically used in backbone and metro aggregation layers to maximize fiber utilization.
These units are also known as “40ch DWDM multiplexers,” “optical channel splitters,” or “DWDM filters.” GAO Tek’s solutions are manufactured for low insertion loss and high channel isolation, ensuring signal integrity across long distances.

Amplifiers In Transmission
Optical amplifiers are essential in long-distance transmission systems to boost signal power without converting the optical signal to electrical. GAO Tek offers EDFAs (Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers) and Raman amplifiers for in-line, booster, or pre-amplifier configurations.
They are primarily used in DWDM systems, submarine cable networks, and national telecom grids to compensate for fiber loss across extended spans.
Also referred to as “optical line amplifiers” or “fiber amplifiers,” these units play a vital role in maintaining signal quality in high-capacity optical transport. GAO Tek’s amplifier systems offer gain flattening, wide dynamic range, and compact packaging.

CWDM Mux / De-Mux to Enhance Bandwidth
CWDM (Coarse Wavelength Division Multiplexing) Mux/De-Mux units allow multiple signals at different wavelengths to travel on a single fiber, increasing network capacity with lower cost than DWDM. GAO Tek’s CWDM units are available with 4, 8, 16, or more channels.
These are commonly deployed in metro networks, access networks, enterprise backbones, and wireless backhaul. Their cost-effectiveness makes them an excellent fit for expanding bandwidth without costly fiber upgrades.
Often called “CWDM splitters,” “CWDM wavelength filters,” or “CWDM channel combiners,” these devices help reduce CAPEX while enabling scalable service deployment. GAO Tek ensures low insertion loss and rugged housing for field use.

DWDM in Network
DWDM (Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing) enables high-bandwidth, long-distance optical communication by transmitting multiple data channels over tightly spaced wavelengths. GAO Tek provides a wide range of DWDM modules, including transceivers, multiplexers, and ROADM-compatible systems.
These systems are crucial in telecom core networks, hyperscale data centers, and cloud backbones. They support high-speed protocols such as 10G, 40G, and 100G and are key to modern optical network scalability.
Also known as “dense optical networks” or “DWDM transport systems,” these platforms offer unparalleled fiber efficiency. GAO Tek’s offerings feature high port densities, low latency, and full compatibility with existing DWDM infrastructure.

GPON OLT in Access Network
A GPON OLT (Gigabit Passive Optical Network Optical Line Terminal) is the central device in a GPON architecture that connects to multiple ONTs (Optical Network Terminals) at user premises. GAO Tek’s GPON OLT units are engineered for reliable service delivery and robust performance.
They are widely used by ISPs, municipal broadband providers, and utilities to deliver triple-play services: data, voice, and video, to residential and commercial users.
Also called “GPON headends” or “GPON central office units,” these terminals provide high port density and manage traffic aggregation efficiently. GAO Tek supports multi-port OLTs with dynamic bandwidth allocation and SNMP-based management.

Hybrid CWDM/DWDM
Hybrid CWDM/DWDM systems combine the economic advantages of CWDM with the high-capacity capabilities of DWDM. GAO Tek offers hybrid multiplexers that incorporate both CWDM and DWDM grids into a single chassis.
This approach is particularly useful in networks transitioning from low- to high-capacity environments without immediate fiber reinstallation. It supports flexible upgrades and smooth migration paths for service providers.
These systems are also known as “CWDM-DWDM combiners,” “hybrid multiplexing platforms,” or “hybrid optical nodes.” GAO Tek’s hybrid modules are designed for low crosstalk, temperature stability, and easy integration with passive and active equipment.

Media Converters Ethernet to Fiber
Media converters transform Ethernet signals into optical signals, enabling copper-based devices to communicate over fiber. GAO Tek offers gigabit and fast Ethernet converters in both standalone and chassis-based formats.
Applications include enterprise LAN extension, IP surveillance, campus interconnection, and factory automation systems. These devices help bridge the gap between legacy copper networks and modern fiber links.
Often referred to as “fiber media adapters,” “Ethernet-fiber converters,” or “RJ45 to SFP converters,” these units are essential for mixed-network environments. GAO Tek’s models support auto-negotiation, PoE, and various fiber connectors and distances.

Passive Dispersion Compensation
Passive dispersion compensation modules (DCMs) correct signal distortion caused by chromatic dispersion in long fiber links. GAO Tek’s DCMs use dispersion compensating fiber to restore signal integrity in optical transmission systems.
They are deployed in long-haul DWDM systems, metro backbones, and high-speed enterprise links to ensure data fidelity and reduce bit error rates.
Also known as “dispersion compensators,” “optical dispersion modules,” or “DCFs,” these units enable high-speed data transport over legacy fiber infrastructure. GAO Tek offers various compensation lengths, connector types, and form factors for easy deployment.
