Toronto, Canada – GAO Tek Inc. is offering its TDR cable fault locator which utilizes pulse reflection and intelligent bridge technologies. It is well suited for field technicians to accurately locate breaks, shorts, poor electric insulation and other faults of various telephone cables, RF cables and coaxial cables.
This TDR cable fault locator, model A0080002, features fully automatic and manual testing functions, automatic balance and gain adjustment. The TDR cable fault locator also has the functions of Megohmeter and ohmmeter.
Using pulse reflection testing methods, the cable fault locator provides a wide full-automatic measurement range of 0 to 8 km and offers the testing accuracy of 1 m for measurement range less than 2 km and 8 m for measurement range more than 2 km. It also provides a vast pulse width of 60 ns to 10 μs and a testing dead zone of 0 m. While utilizing bridge testing method, it offers a poor insulation resistance of 0 to 30 MΩ and a full testing length of 9999 m. In addition, this cable fault locator is able to store ten test waveforms and has a large LCD screen with backlight for clear display of results.
This small size cable fault locator belongs to GAO’s family of Telecom Line Testers. Another similar product in this line is small size cable fault locator which has been widely used in communication maintenance, project construction and integrated cabling. This line also includes Compact Telecom Line Tester used for line maintenance and construction and Cable Fault Locator which utilizes advanced micro-electronics technology and is designed to accurately locate fault points such as breaks, shorts, grounding, defective insulation or poor contact in telecommunication cable. The testers in this line are very popular among field engineers as a result of their testing accuracy, functionality, portability and affordability.
