OTDR - Short Event Dead Zone
OTDR – Short Event Dead Zone is the shortest possible distance that an OTDR device can identify between subsequent events in an existing optical fiber link. This is one of the key feature of an OTDR that helps in fiber testing and troubleshooting. This extra-short event dead zone is suitable for testing very short optical fiber and pigtail optical fiber and can measure the fiber loss at each end of the link. It can also exactly locate the faults or breaks in a fiber circuits and can be applied in the field of manufacturing, construction and maintenance of optical fiber communication system and FTTx Networks.
