Purpose
The type paint specific gravity cup is designed and manufactured in accordance with “Determination of Paint and Varnish Density.” It is used to measure the density (specific gravity) of liquid paints, varnishes, and similar materials at controlled temperatures.
Testing Equipment
- Specific gravity cup: Coating density cups (mass/volume type) made from aluminum alloy or stainless steel, with capacities of 37 mL, 50 mL, and 100 mL.
- Thermometer: With a resolution of 0.1°C and an accuracy of ±0.2°C.
- Temperature control (water bath or constant environment):
- For high-precision testing, the temperature should be maintained within ±0.5°C of the target.
- For routine production control, ±0.2°C is required.
- Analytical balance (or electronic scale): Accuracy should be at least 0.2 mg.
