Overview

GAOTek iridium GPS tracking device with dual-mode connectivity is a stand alone GPS tracking device, with integrated Iridium Short Burst Data (SBD) and GPRS dual-mode communications terminal that delivers connectivity to assets in fleet management applications moving in and out of cellular range. Fleet managers get the best of both worlds—lower cost data transmission in areas with cellular coverage, and reliable always-on satellite communications over Iridium satellite two-way data service anytime the cellular network is unavailable. When in coverage of cellular networks, the iridium GPS tracking device dual mode terminal uses both cellular frequencies to communicate vehicle location and other vital information. The terminal automatically switches to satellite services when out of cellular reach, ensuring constant visibility and communication.
