SFP GE-FX & DWDM TRANSCEIVERS
GAO’s small form-factor pluggable known as SFP GE-FX and DWDM transceivers are types of optical transceivers used in networking and telecommunications. GAO’s SFP GE-FX transceivers are specifically designed to support Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over fiber optic cables. Our product use laser technology to transmit and receive data signals over the fiber optic medium, allowing for high-speed data transmission over long distances. DWDM which is the dense wavelength division multiplexing is used to increase the capacity of fiber optic networks by transmitting multiple wavelengths of light (channels) simultaneously over a single fiber. Each wavelength can carry its own data stream, effectively multiplying the capacity of the fiber.
GAO’s SFP GE-FX & DWDM transceivers comprise of laser diode, photodiode, transmitter, receiver, optical connector, EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read-Only Memory), digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM), and wavelength-specific components (DWDM Transceivers).
The other common names of SFP GE-FX & DWDM transceivers are SFP gigabit ethernet fiber transceivers, SFP DWDM transceivers, SFP fiber optic transceivers, SFP optical transceivers, SFP laser transceivers, SFP long-reach transceivers, SFP metro transceivers, SFP extended-reach transceivers, SFP coarse wavelength division multiplexing (CWDM) transceivers, and SFP dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) transceivers.

GAO Tek’s SFP GE-FX & DWDM transceivers have the following functions:
- Enable Gigabit Ethernet Connectivity: GAO’s SFP GE-FX transceivers facilitate Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over fiber optic cables. Our products convert electrical signals from network devices into optical signals for transmission over the fiber optic medium.
- Long-Distance Reach: Our SFP GE-FX transceivers are designed for extended reach connections, allowing data transmission over longer distances than copper-based Ethernet connections.
- Fiber Optic Compatibility: GAO’s transceivers support fiber optic cables, both single-mode and sometimes multimode, enabling high-speed data transmission over the fiber infrastructure.
- Plug-and-Play Compatibility: Our SFP transceivers can be inserted or removed from compatible network devices without powering them off, providing flexibility and ease of installation or replacement.
- Increased Network Capacity: GAO Tek’s DWDM transceivers leverage dense wavelength division multiplexing technology to increase the capacity of fiber optic networks. Our products allow multiple wavelengths (channels) of light to be transmitted simultaneously over a single fiber, greatly expanding the network's capacity.
GAO’s SFP GE-FX & DWDM transceivers are rugged, versatile, and precision measurement and calibrating instruments. Our products comply with applicable industrial standards such as SFP Standards, Gigabit Ethernet Standards, ITU-T G.652, DWDM Standards, ITU-T G.694.1, and IEEE 802.3z.
GAO’s SFP GE-FX and DWDM transceivers help our customers comply with relevant U.S government regulations such as:
- Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
- Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS)
- Trade Agreement Act (TAA)
- National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
GAO’s SFP GE-FX and DWDM transceivers help our customers comply with relevant Canada government regulations such as:
- Industry Canada Regulations
- Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA)
- Canadian Standards Association (CSA)
- Innovation, Science, and Economic Development Canada (ISED) Certification
GAO’s SFP GE-FX and DWDM transceivers have the following applications:
- Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH): Our SFP GE-FX transceivers are used to connect customer premises equipment (CPE) to the optical distribution network, providing high-speed Gigabit Ethernet connectivity to homes and businesses.
- Enterprise Networks: GAO’s SFP GE-FX transceivers are used in enterprise networks to provide Gigabit Ethernet connectivity over fiber optic cables. Our products are suitable for connecting switches, routers, and other network devices to fiber optic infrastructure.
- Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs): Our SFP GE-FX transceivers can be deployed in MANs to enable high-speed and long-distance data transmission over fiber optic links.
- Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and Telecommunication Networks: GAO’s DWDM transceivers are used in ISP and telecommunication networks to carry large amounts of data traffic across their infrastructure, enabling high-speed and high-capacity data transmission.
- Long-Haul Networks: Our DWDM transceivers are used in long-haul networks to transmit data over long distances, typically spanning hundreds or thousands of kilometers. It helps to connect different cities or regions, providing high-capacity and high-speed data transmission.
