Description
Overview
GAOTek Portable Lidar Kit is primarily comprised of several integral components, including the laser ranging core, wireless transmission unit, wireless communication unit, angle measuring unit, motor driving unit, and a robust mechanical housing. At its core, the LD06 utilizes state-of-the-art DTOF (Direct Time of Flight) technology to conduct an impressive 4500 measurements each second. When in operation, the LD06 emits an infrared laser beam forward, and upon encountering a target object, this laser beam is reflected back to the device’s single photon receiving unit. This fundamental process enables the LD06 to accurately determine both the time it takes for the laser to be emitted and subsequently received, effectively measuring the “time of flight.” Leveraging the speed of light, the LD06 can precisely calculate the distance to the target object. Following the acquisition of distance data, the LD06 seamlessly combines this information with angle values derived from the angle measurement unit, forming a comprehensive set of point cloud data. This rich dataset is then efficiently transmitted to external interfaces through wireless communication. Concurrently, the external interface provides Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) signals, enabling precise control of the motor driving unit. To maintain stability and consistency in its operation, an external control unit employs a closed-loop PID (Proportional-Integral-Derivative) algorithm to regulate the motor’s rotational speed, ensuring that the LD06 operates reliably and accurately.
