Below are general answers on typical components of a digital oscilloscope from the list of Gao Tek’s digital oscilloscopes. To facilitate our customers to select our products, we have further classified our digital oscilloscopes by their features. benchtop, digital phosphor (DPO), digital storage (DSO), handheld digital, handheld, multi-channel, PC-based, touchscreen, USB PC based, and  wide bandwidth

We have digital oscilloscopes in stock and can ship overnight to most places in the U.S. and Canada.

Input Stage:

  • Input Connector: The oscilloscope typically has one or more input channels, each equipped with a BNC (Bayonet Neill-Concelman) or other connectors for attaching probe leads.
  • Attenuators: These are used to adjust the voltage level of the incoming signal to prevent damage to the oscilloscope.

Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC):

  • The analogy signal from the input stage is converted into a digital signal using an ADC. The ADC samples the input waveform at regular intervals and quantizes the voltage levels.

 Memory:

  • GAO Tek’s Digital oscilloscopes have internal memory to store the digitized waveform data. The size of the memory determines the duration of the waveform that can be captured and displayed.

Processor:

  • A powerful processor is used to perform various calculations and manipulations on the digitized waveform data. This includes tasks such as signal processing, triggering, and display rendering.

Display:

  • GAO’s digital oscilloscope display is a crucial component, usually an LCD or LED screen. It visualizes the waveform data and provides user interfaces for control and measurement.

User Interface:

  •  Our digital Oscilloscopes have knobs, buttons, and a touchscreen interface for user control. These interfaces allow users to adjust settings such as time base, voltage scale, triggering, and more.

Triggering System:

  • The triggering system is responsible for initiating the capture of waveforms at specific points in time. It helps stabilize and synchronize the displayed waveform.

Signal Conditioning:

  • Some oscilloscopes may have additional signal conditioning components like amplifiers and filters to enhance the quality of the captured signals.

Power Supply:

  • GAO Tek’s digital oscilloscopes require a power supply to operate. This can be an internal power supply or an external power source, depending on the model and design.

Communication Ports:

  • USB, ethernet, and other communication ports are often included to facilitate data transfer between the oscilloscope and external devices, such as computers or printers.

Calibration Components:

  •  GAO’s digital oscilloscopes have built-in calibration components to ensure accurate measurements. This may include reference voltage sources and calibration routines.

Cooling System:

  • In some cases, especially for high-performance oscilloscopes, a cooling system may be employed to dissipate heat generated during operation.Â
