Below are general answers on typical components of a crack detector from the list of GAO Tek’s crack detectors. To facilitate our customers to select our products, we have further classified our crack detectors by their features: concrete depth and width, concrete, data logging, handheld, high accuracy industrial, non-destructive testing, outdoor, rugged, ultrasonic, and wireless.

We have products in stock and can ship overnight to most places in the U.S. and Canada.

Magnetic Particle Inspection:

Electronic Components:

  • Power Supply: GAO Tek provides the necessary current for generating the magnetic field.
  • Magnetizing Equipment: Our equipment produces a magnetic field in the material under inspection.
  • Magnetic Field Indicator: Measures the strength and direction of the magnetic field.
  • Coil and Magnetization Current Source: Used to create a magnetic field.

Software Components:

  • Data Acquisition Software: Our software collects and records data from the magnetic field indicator.
  • Analysis Software: Processes the collected data to identify and visualize indications of cracks or defects.

Mechanical Components:

  • Test Specimen: The material being inspected.
  • Magnetization Equipment: Coils or yokes used to apply the magnetic field.
  • Part Handling Equipment: We use fixtures or manipulators to hold and move the test specimen during inspection.
  • Inspection Booth or Enclosure: Our enclosure provides a controlled environment for inspection.
  • Cleaning and Pre-treatment Equipment: To prepare the surface of the test specimen for inspection.

Dye Penetrant Inspection

Electronic Components:

  • UV Light Source: Emits ultraviolet light for fluorescence inspection.
  • Fluorescent Penetrant: Contains fluorescent dyes that seep into cracks or defects.
  • Visible Light Source: Provides illumination for visible inspection.
  • Digital Imaging System: Captures images for documentation and analysis.

Software Components:

  • Image Processing Software: Our software analyzes images to detect and highlight indications of cracks or defects.
  • Reporting Software: Generates reports detailing inspection results.

Mechanical Components:

  • Test Specimen: The material being inspected.
  • Penetrant Application Equipment: Our sprayers or applicators to apply the penetrant.
  • Dwell Time Equipment: Our equipment controls the time the penetrant remains on the surface.
  • Cleaning Equipment: Removes excess penetrant from the surface.
  • Developer Application Equipment: Applies developer to draw out penetrant from cracks.

Ultrasonic Inspection

Electronic Components:

  • Ultrasonic Transducer: GAO Tek’s product emits ultrasonic waves into the material.
  • Receiver: Detects ultrasonic waves reflected from internal defects.
  • Pulse Generator: GAO’s generator controls the timing and frequency of ultrasonic pulses.
  • Amplifier: Boosts the received signal for analysis.
  • A/D Converter: Converts analogue signals to digital for processing.

Software Components:

  • Signal Processing Software: Analyzes ultrasonic signals to detect and characterize defects.
  • Imaging Software: Generates visual representations of the inspected material, highlighting detected defects.

Mechanical Components:

  • Test Specimen: The material being inspected.
  • Couplant: Our couplant gel or liquid medium to enhance ultrasonic wave transmission.
  • Scanning Equipment: We use mechanisms for moving the transducer over the surface of the specimen.
  • Calibration Blocks: Our reference standards for calibrating the equipment.
  • Inspection Chamber: Enclosure to contain the coupling medium and provide a controlled environment.
