QSFP Transceivers

GAO’s QSFP transceivers are high-speed optical modules used in data center and networking environments for transmitting and receiving data over fiber optic cables. They support higher data rates compared to x2 transceivers and are widely used for 40 gigabit ethernet (40gbe) and 100 gigabit ethernet (100gbe) applications. GAO’s QSFP transceiver is a hot-pluggable module that conforms to the QSFP MSA standard, ensuring interoperability between different vendors’ equipment. It is compact in size and provides high-density, high-bandwidth connectivity.

GAO’s QSFP transceivers are composed of an optoelectronic transmitter, optoelectronic receiver, laser driver and trans-impedance amplifier (TIA), digital diagnostic monitoring (DDM) interface, connector interface, control, and identification interface.

The other common names for QSFP transceivers are quad Small Form-Factor Pluggable transceivers, QSFP modules, Quad SFP transceivers, QuadGigabit Small Form-Factor Pluggable transceivers, 40G transceivers, and 100G transceivers.

GAO Tek’s QSFP transceivers have the following functions:

  • Data Transmission: GAO’s QSFP transceivers enable the transmission and reception of data over optical fibers. They support high-speed data rates, typically ranging from 40 to 400 gigabits per second (Gbps), depending on the specific QSFP standard.
  • Multichannel Capability: Our QSFP transceivers use multiple channels to transmit and receive data. The exact number of channels depends on the QSFP standard. For example, QSFP+ (40G) has four channels, while QSFP28 (100G) and QSFP56 (200G) have eight channels.
  • Small Form-factor: GAO’s QSFP transceivers are designed to have a small form-factor, allowing them to fit into compact spaces within networking equipment. They help conserve space and enable high-density deployments in data centers and networking devices.
  • Hot-pluggable: Our QSFP transceivers are hot-pluggable, meaning they can be inserted or removed from a compatible port without powering down the system. This feature allows for easy installation and replacement without disrupting network connectivity.
  • Optical and Electrical Interfaces: Our QSFP transceivers support various optical and electrical interfaces, depending on the specific QSFP standard and the intended application. These interfaces include ethernet, fiber channel, InfiniBand, and other high-speed protocols.
