Clamp Meters
GAO’s electrical clamp meters are a type of electrical test instrument used to measure electrical current without the need to disconnect the circuit or make physical contact with the conductors. Our clamp meters work by using a magnetic clamp that can be opened and closed around the conductor, which induces a magnetic field in the clamp. This field is then converted into a measurable electrical signal, which is used to determine the current flowing through the conductor. They are particularly useful in situations where the current cannot be easily measured using other types of test instruments, such as when the circuit is live or the conductors are difficult to access.
