Overview
This active RFID end-cap reader for Psion Teklogix Workabout Pro G2 is a powerful, robust and cost-effective mobile tool for active RFID asset management. It has the advantages of quick and easy installation, plug and play capability, allowing for simultaneous use of multiple other expansion modules, user’s choice of out-the-box or customized applications to process detected tag data. The end-cap reader can operate in rugged conditions at both short ranges or at ultra long ranges and provides unrivalled mobility solutions for customers seeking to identify, locate or audit tagged assets outside of areas monitored by fixed RFID reader networks.
This end-cap RFID reader can be used as a standalone mobile device or as part of an enterprise asset management system. It allows quick and easy search for or localization of tagged items. Tagged item information is displayed enabling complete management of all tagged assets by mobile users even if they are out of range of a fixed reader network. This data enables the automation of business decisions about tagged assets and real-time knowledge of their accurate location and condition.
This active RFID reader allows users to combine their choice of barcode scanners, imagers, wireless LAN & WAN adaptors, GPS positioning and GSM/GPRS/EDGE communication modules with this compact device. The long range end-cap reader offers a typical tag read range of 70 m by using an external antenna and allows for ultra-long range asset identification and auditing indoor or outdoor storage facilities. A standard range model is also available and offers a typical tag read range of 15 m by using an internal antenna and allows for close proximity asset identification.
