Description
Overview
GAOTek portable radon detector is based on the high-voltage electrostatic adsorption alpha spectroscopy method, the gas containing radon is sucked into the electrostatic collection chamber with an air pump, once radon undergoes alpha decay, the radon atoms become positively charged polonium atoms (ions), move to the surface of the detector under the action of high-voltage electric field, and is adsorbed on the detector. Then the polonium atoms on the surface undergo alpha decay, and the excitation of alpha particles generates a current signal (electric pulse signal) on the surface of the detector. After the electrical pulse signal passes through the multi-channel pulse analyzer of the instrument, the number and energy of alpha particles generated will be known, then the concentration of radon in the air is calculated indirectly.
