XFP BIDI Transceivers
GAOTek’s XFP BIDI (Bi-Directional) transceivers are a type of optical transceiver module used in fiber optic communication networks. XFP stands for “10 Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable,” which is a standard for high-speed fiber optic transceivers. BIDI transceivers are designed to transmit and receive optical signals over a single strand of fiber using wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology.
GAOTek’s XFP BIDI transceivers are composed of laser diodes, photodiodes, duplex LC connector, control and monitoring circuitry, EEPROM, and transceiver housing.
The other common names of XFP BIDI transceivers are BIDI XFP modules, BIDI XFP optical transceivers, dual-fiber XFP transceivers, single-channel BIDI XFP modules, XFP BIDI fiber optic transceivers, XFP single-wavelength BIDI transceivers, XFP dual-core BIDI modules, BIDI XFP fiber optic transceivers, single-fiber BIDI XFP modules, XFP BIDI wavelength transceivers, dual-path XFP BIDI modules, single-line BIDI XFP transceivers, XFP BIDI data transceivers, single-channel dual-fiber XFP modules, and BIDI XFP optical network transceivers.

GAO Tek’s XFP BIDI transceivers have the following functions:
- Bidirectional Transmission: GAO’s XFP BIDI transceivers enable bidirectional communication over a single fiber strand. They use wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) technology to transmit data in both directions simultaneously.
- Single-Fiber Solution: Our XFP BIDI transceivers provide a cost-effective solution for network deployments where the availability of fiber strands is limited. By transmitting and receiving data on a single fiber, they effectively double the capacity of existing fiber infrastructure.
- Long Transmission Distances: GAO’s XFP BIDI transceivers are capable of long-distance transmission, typically ranging from a few kilometers up to 80 kilometers or more, depending on the model and fiber type used. This makes them suitable for both metropolitan and long-haul network applications.
- Hot-Pluggable: Our XFP BIDI transceivers are hot-pluggable, which means they can be inserted or removed from a compatible network device without shutting down or disrupting the entire system. This feature allows for easy installation, maintenance, and upgrades.
- Compatibility: GAOTek’s XFP BIDI transceivers comply with industry standard XFP (10 Gigabit Small Form Factor Pluggable) specifications. They are designed to work with various networking equipment, such as switches, routers, and media converters, that support XFP interfaces.
GAO Tek’s XFP BIDI transceivers are rugged, versatile, and precision measurement instruments. They comply with applicable industry standards such as SFP MSA, IEEE 802.3 Standards, ITU-T G.652 and G.657 Recommendations, fiber channel standards, and RoHS Compliance.
GAO’s XFP BIDI transceivers help our customers comply with relevant U.S. government regulations such as:

GAO’s XFP BIDI transceivers have the following applications:
- Telecommunications Networks: GAO’s XFP BIDI transceivers are widely used in telecommunications networks, especially in fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments. They enable high-speed bidirectional data transmission over a single fiber, making them cost-effective solutions for delivering broadband services to homes and businesses.
- Data Centers: Our BIDI transceivers can be used in data center interconnects where long-distance communication is required. They provide a compact and efficient solution for connecting switches, routers, and servers over single-mode fiber, allowing for high-speed data transmission and connectivity.
- Metropolitan Area Networks (MANs): Our XFP BIDI transceivers are suitable for building and expanding metropolitan area networks. These transceivers can transmit and receive data over long distances, making them ideal for connecting different sites within a city or metropolitan area.
- Wireless Backhaul: Our XFP BIDI transceivers are used in wireless backhaul applications, where they facilitate the transmission of data between base stations and core network infrastructure. The bidirectional capability of these transceivers allows for efficient communication over a single fiber, reducing the need for additional fiber optic cables.
- Enterprise Networks: GAO’s XFP BIDI transceivers can be deployed in enterprise networks, enabling high-speed connectivity between network switches, routers, and other network equipment.
- Security and Surveillance Systems: Our XFP BIDI transceivers are utilized in security and surveillance systems to transmit video, audio, and data signals over long distances. By using bidirectional communication, these transceivers simplify the installation and maintenance of surveillance networks by reducing the number of required fiber optic cables.
Our XFP BIDI transceivers can be shipped overnight within the continental U.S. and Canada and can be shipped globally.
