This Solar Powered UHF Gen 2 RFID Tag is a next-generation asset and cargo tag that can be used in multiple applications. It features a unique light panel, ultra-capacitor combination power source, light weight, and high durability and provides reliable performance in both indoor and outdoor applications and has a read range of 75 feet (22 m) depending on the reader, environment and other factors.
The ultra-high frequency RFID tag can withstand the harshest outdoor environments and is resistant to shock, vibration, dust, water, oil, chemicals and other hazardous materials. Its special design and durability allow for up to ten years of use.
- The tag uses no batteries. The tag uses an ultra-capacitor with a virtually unlimited life cycle coupled with a state-of-the-art, high-efficiency solar panel. In lighted conditions, the solar panel supplies power for a high read range; in extreme low light and total darkness, the ultra-capacitor typically maintains read range for up to 48 hours. Note that the tag will continue to operate normally after ultra capacitor is completely drained, but with diminished read range.
- The solar tag continuously charges the capacitor. It takes approximately two minutes to fully charge the capacitor on a sunny day or using direct light from a halogen or sodium lamp. In diminished lighting it will take longer to fully charge the capacitor.
