Overview
GAOTek managed ethernet fiber media converters are a high performance, cost effective, carrier grade manageable media converter platform. They are intended for applications of the point-to-point fiber-to-the-premises (FTTx) market, or to bridge the gap between legacy copper infrastructures and fiber growth. Available in stand-alone, modular chassis-based, or fixed multiport, they offer copper to fiber and fiber to fiber media conversion or automatic fiber protection switching in the following supported protocols like Ethernet, Fast Ethernet, Gigabit Ethernet, or other media and protocol conversion in the future releases.With industry advanced features such as Auto-Negotiation, Auto-MDI/X, Link Fault Pass-Through (LFP) or Remote Fault Detection (RFD), and Dying Gasp Alarm make more efficient troubleshooting and less on-site maintenance. They provide remote loopback and in-band IEEE 802.3 ah, IEEE 802.1 ag, ITU-T Y.1731 and First Mile proprietary Ethernet packet-based OAM capabilities to manage subscriber access network from carrier center side to terminal side, while the embedded management software allows administrators easily to configure features, to monitor performance, and to troubleshoot the system using command line interface (CLI), standard Web browser and Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) based network management platforms.
