TDR Cable Fault Locator Equipped with a Touch Color Screen

Toronto, Canada – GAO Tek Inc. recommends its TDR cable fault locator which integrates an OTDR, megohmmeter, ohmmeter and automatic bridge into one unit. It is ideal for locating breaks, shorts, poor electric insulation and other faults of various telephone cables, RF cables and coaxial cables.

This portable TDR cable fault locator, model GAO A0080001, features a field calibration function and performs testing of insulation resistance and loop resistance. It provides a 0 m dead zone test distance and a contrast function for 2 waveforms. It is suitable for testing 0.32 mm, 0.4 mm, 0.5 mm, 0.6 mm telephone cables. Also, it stores 10 testing waveforms, and measurement results can be uploaded through the USB interface.

Using DAGC (Digital Automatic Gain Control) and Digital Waveform Automatic Recognition technologies, this cable fault locator is able to automatically recognize faults which are not found with manual testing. It operates in both pulse reflection testing and bridge testing modes. In pulse mode, the locator tests for line breaks with a wide measurement range of 0 m to 8 km. In bridge mode, it locates shorts and bad insulation with an error rate of 1 percent of full length. It is powered by a built-in 2 Ah lithium-ion rechargeable battery allowing for a long operation period of 6 hours.

This TDR cable fault locator belongs to GAO’s family of Telecom Line Testers. This line includes two other technically advanced line testers including TDR Cable Fault Locator, which features full automatic and manual testing functions, automatic balance and gain adjustment and a testing dead zone of 0 m and Compact Telecom Line Tester, which incorporates the functions of a telephone set, a circuit performance tester and a security tester making it a comprehensive device for detecting line errors.
